I learned to throw clay on the wheel in 11th grade from Irene Sukle. Honestly, she had handed over the back corner of the Art Room to us wild teenagers to run things and create on our own. I was even operating the kiln firings between class periods. Ceramics is a hard hobby to keep up with when you don't have a dedicated studio space, but my makeshift corner of my dad's barn has served me well during the last 5 years. Mine kiln is tiny and old, but she gets up to temperature.
